FEATHERSTON
LEAGUE OF MOTHERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The League ,of ' Mothers held its monthly meeting in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, when Mrs Arch. Clark presided over a good attendance. Mis A. Clark introduced the speaker for the meeting, Mrs Jolly, of Martinborough, -who gave a very interesting account of her recent travels in Holland, and also a description of a garden party at Buckingham Palace. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Boston, Carter, Charles, Luke Smith, and F. W. Burt. The tea hostesses were Mesdames Blain, Harkness, McKenna and J. B. Davis. CENTENARY EXHIBITION. .At a meeting of delegates from the Featherston County Council, Wairarapa South County Council and Greytown, ' Martinborough and Featherston Borough Councils, held in the Borough Office yesterday, Mr J. W. Card was elected as representative on the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Centenary Exhibition Provincial Group. DEPREDATIONS BY WILD PIGS. It is reported that 'wild pigs are causing loss to farmers in the Western Lake district. Several newly-born lambs have been devoured.
