REBEL AIR RAIDS

BRITISH WIRELESS OFFICER KILLED AT VALENCIA SEVERAL OTHERS WOUNDED (Recd This Day, 9.15 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, August 15. Two members of the crew of the London steamer Noemi Julia were wounded by bomb splinters during a raid on Valencia. The Noemi Julia is sinking. Mr R. A. Emery, a wireless operator on the British ship Hillfern, was killed. A British observer aboard the Finnish steamer Fredavore was wounded.

MINED AND SUNK LOSS OF FRENCH STEAMER NEAR GIBRALTAR (Recd This Day, 9.15 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, August 15.. The French steamer Artois was sunk by a mine 35 miles south-east of Gibraltar. The German steamer Theresarus rescued the crew of fourteen.
