GENERAL FRANCO’S LATEST ASSURANCE. REPLY WITHIN A FEW DAYS. LONDON, Aug. 13. The Foreign Office has received an assurance that General Franco will reply to Britain’s proposals regarding the withdrawal of volunteers within a few days. RAID ON ALICANTE. FIFTY KILLED BY ITALIAN PLANES. ALICANTE, Aug. 14. Ten Italian Savoia planes killed 50 persons and wounded 200 in a halfhour raid over the city today.
