MANAGER FAREWELLED
FUNCTION AT WAINGAWA. The employees of Messrs Thos Borthwick and Sons Ltd, Waingawa freezing works, met recently to officially, bid farewell to the works manager, Mr R. Parr, who has been transferred to the Waitara works of the Company. Mr S. J. Munn expressed general regret at the impending departure of Mr Parr and referred to the many fine qualities which claimed for him the esteem and co-operation of all associated with the industry at Waingawa. As a mark of appreciation on the part of the employees, Mr Munn asked Mr Parr to accept a silver afternoon tea and coffee service on behalf of himself and Mrs Parr, and a crystal powder bowl on behalf of Miss I. Parr. Several other speakers, representative of departments and connected with the works added their' tribute and tendered the recipient all good wishes for the future. Mr Parr suitably replied. The proceedings concluded with the singing of “For he’s a jolly good fellow” and three cheery for Mr and Mrs Parr and Miss Parr.
