NEW TUG

ORDERED BY LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A new tug of 1250 horse power is to be built for the Lyttelton Harbour Board at a total cost of £54,062 10s. The board decided, at a special meeting this morning, to accept the tender of Lobnitz and Co., Renfrew, of £43,250. To that sum must be added exchange amounting to £10,812 10s. The contract stipulates that the vessel must be completed within 6). months. With maximum dimensions of 115 feet by 29 feet by 14 feet, the tug will be fitted with a fire pump, a foamite fire-fighting attachment and a salvage suction pump. It will be powered with a steam engine. The price is for delivery in New Zealand, including radio equipment, the time clause for construction applying to work to be done in Scotland. Lobnitz and Co. also built the tugs William C. Daldy, for. the Auckland Harbour Board and the Awarua, for .the Bluff Harbour Board.
