BASKETBALL
«, SECONDARY SCHOOLS TOURNEY. VISITING TEAMS. The following will be the visiting teams in connection with the quadrangular basketball tournament to be held on Friday and Saturday:— Dannevirke High School: Fay Keen, Mary Laughton, Bunty Taylor, Edith Marshall, Connie Obrist, Neroli Senior, Nola Redward, Noeline Brannigan, Jean Twentyman, Marie Diehl. The team, whose school colours are black and royal blue, will play in navy shorts and royal blue blouses. The accompanying members of the staff are Misses Mahoney and J. Reid. Hutt Valley High School: Nola Huse, Peggy Campbell, Doris Crofts, Marion Marwick, Shirley Jonathan, Norrice Taylor, Nancy Butt,'' Judith Burr, Betty Lidgett, <Joan Campbell, Dorothy Dowland, Ngaire Browne. The team will be accompanied by its coach, Miss W. Matter. The colours of the Hutt Valley High School are black and white.
Wellington East Girls’ College: Beverley Cattin, Doreen Loadsman, Nora Roberts, Ruth Whitaker, Patricia Sinnett, Marie Norrie, Audrey Knox, Patricia Shannon, Alison Stewart, Pamela Humphreys, Bernice Burton, Nora Young. Miss Dixon, the games mistress, will be in charge of the team. The colours of the team are black and gold. The first match is timed for Friday at 2 p.m. and the second at 3 p.m. On Saturday morning the losers will play off at 9.15 and the winners at 9.45 a.m.
