AFFRAYS IN PALESTINE
BOMB EXPLOSION NEAR JAFFA ARABS & JEWS WOUNDED, FOUR BANDITS CAPTURED. (British Official Wireless). (Recd This Day, 12.25 p.m.) RUGBY, August 9. A telegram from the High Commissioned of ’Palestine dated today, received at the Colonial Office, states that early last night a Maltese was shot and killed in the old city of Jerusalem. Yesterday a bomb exploded and later shots were fired on the Jaffa-Tel Aviv boundary. Two Arabs and two Jews were wounded.
The curfew imposed yesterday at Tiberias is being maintained. As the result of an encounter east of Nablus yesterday, a quantity of arms and ammunition was seized and four wounded bandits were taken prisoners.
