GREYTOWN
FIRE BRIGADE MEETING (“Times-Age” Special.) ' The monthly meeting was held on Monday night, Superintendent Gates presiding over f a full attendance of members. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr M. F. S. King of the Carterton Fire Brigade. Station Officer W. Hood was appointed custodian. > The secretary was instructed to forT ward dues for the Accident Society (due on August 14). The superintendent welcomed Foreman J. Workman, who has been on sick leave for some weeks. Superintendent W. J. Gates stated that he would be leaving Greytown at the end of September, and would consequently relinquish his. position. He joined the brigade in 1900, and had been its chief for over 27 years. He intends to reside near Dannevirke. MUSIC EXAMINATIONS Among the list of cabled results in connection with the Trinity College Theory Examinations held at Wellington in. June are the following:—Advanced junior, Alan Carter; junior, Mary Carter; preparatory, Catherine Bouzaid. They are pupils of Mrs Gold, L.T.C.L., of Greytown.
