COAL DISPUTE

MINERS REJECT OFFER OF TRIBUNAL. SUSPICIONS OF SIDETRACKING. SYDNEY, Aug. 8. They claim that the issue of safety in mines cannot be separated from other issues, namely shorter hours and pensions for aged miners. The delegates interpret the Premier’s offer as an attempt to sidetrack the miners and whittle down their claims.
