PRIDE OF RACE
NEW RULES IN ITALY USE OF FOREIGN NAMES PROHIBITED (Recd This Day, 10.55 a.m.) ROME, August 3. As part of a campaign to preserve “pride of race and tongue, which is the basis of the Fascist doctrine,” it is decreed’ that cafes and places of amusement no longer may use such names as Bellevue, Cheznous, Hollywood, etc. Only Italian names will be permissible, in order to end “strident □nd unpardonable contrasts.”
