Miss M. Sellar, who has been staying at Paraparaumu Beach, is returning home tomorrow. Misses Gibson, of Pahiatua, are the guests of Mrs J. A. McGaffin, of Dyerville.

Mrs McWilliams, of Martinborough, has been staying with her mother, Mrs Lowrie, Four Flats, Masterton. Mr and Mrs Waldegrave, who have been staying with Mrs J. J. Kennedy, Opaki Road, have returned to Taumarunui.

Mrs N. H. James, Pownall Street who has been staying with her daughter, Mrs Wilson, Auckland, has returned to Masterton.

The marriage took place recently in Auckland of Mrs A. Zillwood, late of Carterton, to the Rev R. J. Liddell, of Glen Eden, Auckland, who was in charge of the Methodist Church at Carterton for several years, and was afterwards stationed at Dannevirke.

Miss L. W. Bridgman, secretary of the Y.W.C.A., Wellington, left last night for Auckland prior to her departure for Canada, where she will be one of four New Zealand delegates at a world conference of the Y.W.C.A. Before she left she was guest of honour at a number of small farewell parties.

It is a very unusual occurrence for a daughter to install her father as an office-bearer in a friendly society. Such a happening occurred at the quarterly meeting of Court Littlejohn, Ancient Order of Foresters, Waipawa, when the Chief Ranger, Sister A. Hutt, installed her father, Bro. A. Hutt, as subchief ranger. Sister Hutt has the distinction of being the first woman member of Court Littlejohn to hold the position of Chief Ranger.
