TREASON TRIAL
SENTENCES IN MADRID. TWENTY-THREE PERSONS TO die; (Recd This Day, 11.50 a.m.) MADRID, August 2. After a six weeks’ trial of 195 persons accused of high treason and espionage, 23 have been sentenced to death, 25 acquitted and 106 imprisoned for terms ranging from six to thirty years, eleven receiving the maximum. Others were released during the course of the trial, or their cases were ordered to be investigated again.
