AIR MAILS
♦ NEW ZEALAND’S HEAVY POSTINGS (Recd This Day, 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The first outward air mail at the reduced rate of fivepence per half-ounce left Sydney for London by the Cappentaria, which carried 4031 b of letters. The postal authorities have been notified that the mail from New Zealand for the first of the thrice-weekly services, leaving Rose Bay on August 9, will exceed 33601b5. As a result of heavy postings from New Zealand, it has been necessary for the Qantas Empire Airways officials to restrict the number of passengers to be carried on the first flight to five.
