HEAVY REINFORCEMENTS CHINESE CUT WUHU DYKES LARGE AREA FLOODED (Recd This Day, 10.20 a.m.) SHANGHAI, August 2. Japan has despatched 30,000 reinforcements to strengthen the advance on Hankow. The Chinese have cut the Wuhu dykes, above Kiukiang, flooding a large area. Japanese bombers disabled fourteen Chinese ships, including three gunboats, during an extensive raid on the Yangtse-Kiang.
