CONQUEST OF EVEREST
DECLARED DEFINITELY POSSIBLE INTERVAL OF FAIR WEATHER NEEDED (Recd This Day, 9.55 a.m.) COLOMBO, August 1. The Mt Everest climber, Mr Odell, says the conquest of the peak is definitely possible. Only the last 900 feet defeated the climbers. The conquest can be achieved if there is a fair interval between the Tibetan winter and the bursting of the monsoon.
