THE AUSTRALIAN EMBARGO ON POTATOES ADMISSION OF SOME IMPORTS FROM NEW ZEALAND (Recd This Day, 11.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Sydney “Morning Herald” says the investigations of the Federal Government into the matter of lifting 'the embargo on the importation of . potatoes from New Zealand have reached a stage at which it is expected that action will be taken at an early date to permit of sufficient quantities being imported, under licence, to meet a deficiency in supplies and ensure prices being kept at a reasonable level.
