To make an economical pot-scraper, get a handful of horsehair and make it into a wad. This will prove to be quite a good scraper?. Be sure to place it in. the sun occasionally.

To get the same amount of wear out of several pairs of stockings of similar shade, mark the tops of each pair with thread of a different hue so that each will get the same amount of wear.

When roasting a fowl in the oven, cover with a greased cloth instead of greased paper. You will find that the cloth will not burn, and can be easily lifted off when basting.

A scorch mark can be removed from a woollen, jumper by soaking the marked portion in gylcerine. Leave to dry and then wash in a lather of warm water and soap. Rinse in warm watei.

When men’s pants have been washed hang them on the line by the waist and insert wire presses in both legs whilst they are still wet. Thus the pants will be much easier to press when dry. When pressing them, iron down the back crease first, then across the turnup, and finish by ironing up the front crease. All bagginess at the knees will thus be taken out, and the finish will be equal to tailors’ pressing.

A watch that stops in winter without apparent reason, can be made to go again by placing it near the fire for a short time. The stoppage is due to clogged oil quite oftien, and the warmth remedies the troubles.
