HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS
Take some nice celery, have a large bowl of salted water near, and pare the celery as finely as possible; then throw into the water, and in a short time it will curl up into pretty rings. Serve with plain salad dressing. When making plain little rock cakes or queen cakes, put into the mixture a good handful of breakfast crispies, or any of the prepared breakfast oats. These are a great improvement.. For savoury sandwiches. try these. Spread thin white or brown butter with cream cheese,. then add a thin layer of chopped pickled walnuts. They’re so appetising. For obstinate. iron-mould stains, try rhubarb juice. Put the stained part in the solution for a few minutes. Rinse with cold water, and if the stain does not yield fit once, repeat the process. The juice should be hot. If the contents of a salt container become lumpy, it is a good plan to add a few grains of rice before putting in the salt—this will prevent it from becoming clogged. .......
