MASTERTON CLUB’S EASY WIN. MATCH AT MARTINBOROUGH. In a match in the third round of the inter-club competition played at Martinborough last night, the Masterton Badminton Club scored an easy win over the Martinborough Club, winning all 12 games. The detailed results are as follow, Masterton players being mentioned first in ervy case:— Men’s doubles: Pay ton and Hawksworth beat Martin and Grant, 15 —9, 15 —6; Rishworth and O’Connor beat Gair and McLeod 16—18, 15—9, 15—7; Walker/and Smith beat Beveridge and Davidson 15—5, 15—3.
Ladies’ doubles: Misses N. and B. Payton beat Mrs Turner and Miss Ward 11—3, 11 —5; Mrs Hawksworth and Miss J. Betts beat Misses Mitchell and Kershaw 11—3, 11—3; Misses Carrick and Beetham beat Misses Mahood and Hall 11—5, 11—4. Combined doubles: Mrs Hawksworth and Hawksworth beat Miss Ward and Martin 21—6; Miss B. Payton and Payton beat Mrs Turner and Grant 21 —11; Miss N.
