Mr Morrison said it was with very great regret that they were losing the services of Mr Anderson, who had been a member of the executive for many years. “I can say of him,” Mr Morrison added, “that he was a man of honour and integrity and was always an enthusiastic supporter of the Farmers’ Union. He was a man of sound judgment and his wide knowledge was always at the service of the executive. Mr Anderson would leave the district with a warm feeling of friendship and good will from members of the Union and other friends in the district. Mr W. J. Thomas endorsed the remarks of the president and it was decided to forward a letter to Mr Anderson, expressing appreciation of his valuable services to the Union and wishing him long years of good health and happiness. The Rev J. Davie wrote inviting members of the Union to a church service at Knox Church on a date to be arranged. The invitation was accepted and the secretary, Mr James Watson, was instructed to make arrangements for a suitable date.
