MINIATURE RIFLES
MID-SEASON COMPETITIONS. LIST OF PRIZE WINNERS. A good entry was received by the Masterton Club for their fourth annual mid-season shoot held on Saturday afternoon and evening. The competition was of three matches of seven shots, with a final of the eight highest scorers firing a further seven shots to decide the winner. Out of the' possible score of 280 points Lawrie Renall scored a brilliant 278, thereby winning a handsome silver cup donated by Mr P. Russell. H. V. Donald was close up for second place with a total of 277. In the B grade (handicap) aggregate some excellent shooting resulted and W. Dornan proved the winner with an aggregate of 276, closely followed by F. Seward who scored 275. Miss Hubball was third in this series with 274.42. The following were the prize-win-ners:— First match, A grade, 14 shots: J. Duckett 140, Laurie Renall 139, V. E. Donald 138, H. V. Donald 138, H. King 138, B. R. Jenkins 138. B grade.—W. Mason 139.05, F. Seward 138.00; W. Dornan 137.65, W. D. Wallace 137.48, Miss Olliver 137.24, K. Cooper 136.92. Second match, A grade, 7 shots: P. Russell 69, J. Whiteman 69, D. P. Donald 69, V. E. Donald 69, H. V. Donald 69, R. V. Mason 69, Laurie Renall 69. B grade: Miss Hubball, 69.65, A. K. Maidens 69.20, Miss Gray 69.05, F. Seward 69.00, Miss Renall 68.94, L. H. Carter 68.82.
A grade aggregate.—L. Renall 278 (P. Russell’s cup), H. V. Donald 277, J. Duckett 276.
B grade aggregate.—W. Dornan 276.10 (R. J. King’s trophy); F. Seward 275.00 (B. Summers’ trophy); Miss Hubball 274.42 (F. Seward’s trophy); Miss T; Renall 273.79; W. Mason 273.36. Trophies donated by Messrs D. P. Donald and L. Renall were won by Miss Hubball and W. D. Wallace, respectively. TEAMS MATCH. Cars will leave the P.O. at 7.15 p.m. Any member not available 'is asked to notify the secretary as early as possible.
