FEATHERSTON
QUERY CLUB MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Thursday evening, cheerful rounds from the Town Hall proclaimed that the Query Club entertainment was in full swing. It must be a great pleasure to the spirited pioneers of this movement to see so many regular members and also visitors, evidence of their appreciation and enjoyment. A general committee was elected to assist Mr Harkness, Mr and Mrs Holland and Mr and Mrs Keenan, also a secretary, treasurer and three sub-committees. Later four members were added to the programme committee, Miss J. Sadler, Miss Jeannette Matthews, Messrs Arthur Reid and Paddy Ritchie. The ordinary programme includes tennis, quoits, ping pong (5 tables) and discussion groups. Future plans are of particular interest. On Thursday, August 10, the committee will invite parents and friends interested, to an open guest night. An idea of the amusement and entertainment provided will thus be gained by the visitors. The closing night will be on August 25. It has been decided by the committee that this shall take the form of a fancy dress party for club members only, but prospective members for next season, that is those who will be 14 by April, 1939, will be welcome. The committee is already looking forward to its second season. The large attendances, never less than 60 or 70 and even up to 90 —are very definite proof of the interest taken. The development of the discussion groups, two for men and two for girls, have proved most interesting. There are such subjects as Christianity, the church, the position of the younger generation today, etc., and fresh subjects will be welcomed for the 1939 programme. PERSONAL ITEMS. The Rev. C. F.
