HELIUM GAS
NEW SOURCE DISCOVERED IN BRAZIL . INVESTIGATIONS. BY GERMAN SCIENTISTS INTERNATIONAL ISSUES INVOLVED NEW YORK, July 17. The Rio de Janiero correspondent of the “New York Times” says that helium gas has been found in the Sao Paulo province of Brazil, according to a statement by Dr Bastaolves. Director of Brazil’s Geographic and Geologic Department. German scientists have also been investigating helium sources there. The discovery is particularly significant in view of the United States’ refusal to export helium to Germany and the frequent charges made by United States Congressmen that statesmen in the European dictatorships are dangei-ously active in penetrating South America by means of propaganda.
