CLEARING SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., (in conjunction with Messrs Levin and Co.), report: — Yesterday we conducted a dispersal sale of grade Jersey cows at Mt. Bruce on behalf of Mr O. Larsen, which attracted a fair attendance of buyers from surrounding districts. The demand for top quality cows due early was keen and there was good competition for them throughout the sale. Part of the herd being due in September and later somewhat effected the prices, but the top cows 'made from £9 to £l3 10s and the majority sold from £6 to £8 15s. The top price was £l3' 10s for an outstanding cow showing great type and quality. Springing heifers (small) and backward calvers met with moderate prices. Prices: —Cows: Best early calvers, £l3 10s, £l3 ss, £l2, £ll 10s, £ll, £lO 15s, £lO 10s, £lO ss, £lO, £9 10s, £9 ss, to £8 15s; best late calvers, £9 15s, £9 10s, £9, £8 10s, £8 ss, £B, £7 10s, £7, £6 15s to £6; springing heifers made from £4 10s to £6; Jersey bulls, £5 to £5 17s 6d.
