CARTERTON SALE.
PRICES ON PAR WITH PREVIOUS WEEK. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report as follows: —A good yarding of sheep and cattle and a small yarding of pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday. The sale was on a par with that of the previous week and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer at the following prices:-— Sheep: 4-yr. ewes, r.w. Romney rams, to 28s 4d; fat and forward wethers, 20s to 22s 3d; f. and f. hoggets, 16s lOd to 17s 3d; f. and f. ewes, to 14s 6d. Cattle; Springing Jersey heifers, £5 10s to £8 15s; springing Jersey cows, £6 10s to £8 10s; Jersey heifers, r.w. bull, £5 to £6; fat cows, £5 to £7; fat heifers, to £8; forward cows, £3 to £4 ss; store cows, £2 Is to £2 16s; cull cows, 30s to 395. Pigs: Heavy porkers, £2 5s to £2 15s; porkers, 34s to £2 3s; light porkers, 23s to - 28s; sows to farrow, £2 to £3 2s 6d; choppers, 20s tp £2 ss; slips, 14s to 18s.
