NO FIXED POUND-DOLLAR RELATIONSHIP RUMOURS DENIED IN U.S.A. NEW YORK. July 13. The “New York Times” Washington correspondent has been informed that a treasury official has definitely quashed two rumours affecting Anglo-Ameri-can monetary relations. First, he denied that • a monetary clause in the Anglo-American reciprocal arrangement providing a definite relationship between the dollar and the pound is contemplated. Secondly, he said that the report that the British authorities were permitting the pound to drop to a new low level in order to stabilise it at that poin was false and unfounded.
