WEDDING

POWER—McKAY. The marriage took place at Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, on July 9, of Eileen Margaret, third daughter of Mrs M. J. McKay, of Dannevirke, and Cyril Emerson, only son of Mr arid Mrs C. Power, of Morison’s Bush. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. D. McNeur assisted by Mr Lily, of Greytown. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr C. Watson, of Dannevirke, was attired in a model frock of ivory French crepe satin with a lace yoke finished with a peter pan collar; the long full train Had a beautiful embroidered - lace inset. The frock was finished with tiny satin buttons from the neck to the hemline. Her lovely embroidered tulle ver! was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms and a lattice cap of pearls. She also carried a white shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Sybil Power (chief), sister of the bridegroom and Miss Phyllis Neal, a friend of the bride. Both were dressed in redingotes of pink, lace over satin with rucked slips, the hemline being finished with satin bands. True lovers knots of silver were worn at the waist. Silver halos and shoes completed the ensemble. Each carried a pink shower bouquet. The bridegroom’s presents to the bridesmaids were crystal powder bowls. Little Joy Boothby, niece of the bride and Peter Hollis, both of Dannevirke, made a charming pair. The flower girl was dressed in pink taffeta trimmed with satin frills with a silver lovers knot at the waist. On her hair she wore a wreath of pink flowers and a small silver halo, and carried a pink posy. The little page boy wore long white velvet trousers and a frilled shirt of white satin. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr P. Anker as best man and Mr C. Hayes as groomsman. A I'eception was afterwards held at the Empire Hotel where Mrs McKay and Mrs Power received their guests. The former wore a black silk ripple crepe frock inlet with lace. She also wore a black fur felt hat with an eye veil, and a skunk fur, and carried a red posy. Mrs Power was attired in a mulberry. lace frock, over which a matching coatee with an upright collar was worn. She also wore a peach bloom hat to match and black and gold shoes and carried a bronze tinted posy. After the reception Mr and Mrs C. E. Power left for a tour of the North Island, the latter wearing a navy tailored costume with hat, shoes and accessories to match. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a crystal toil-, et set. The future home of Mr and Mrs Power, which will be in the Dannevirke district, will be graced by many beautiful and useful presents.
