> TOURNAMENT AT NEWMAN, i MASTERTON COMPETITORS. ; (“Times-Age” Special.) , On Saturday evening a very successful wrestling tournament was held at Newman, the competitors including a number from Masterton and Dannevirke as well as Newman. Messrs Hill and Edwards were the ! referees, and the contests resulted as follows: —J. Searanche (Newman) 9.9, defeated J. Parrot (Dannevirke) 10st., by one fall. D. Searanche (Newman) 1 10.6, defeated M. Bennett (Dannevirke) ' lOst, by one fal. A. Nielsen (Newman) : lOst, defeated J. Herrington (Danne- : virke), 10.1, on points. D. Falkner (Newman) 9.5, drew with J. Brickhouse (Dannevirke) 9.5. R. Corlett (Masterton) 4st 51b, drew with J. Edwards (Masterton) 4.7. E. Billington (Masterton) 6.7, defeated B. Frankenburg (Masterton) 6.7 on points. J. Billington (Masterton) 7.7, drew with G. Searanche (Newman). K. Hancox (Masterton) 8.8, was defeated by R. Mclntosh (Dannevirke) 9.2 by two falls. E. Norris (Newman) 11.2, defeated J. Cullotty (Dannevirke) 11.5, by one fall. Hill (Masterton) 12.12, defeated C Karena (Dannevirke) 12.7, on points. R. Hancox (Masterton) 8.8, drew with M. Wickens (Masterton) 8.5. J. Searanche (Newman) 10.2, was defeated by R. McGlashan (Newman) 10.2. (Searanche retired injured). R. Sutherland (Masterton) 11.2, defeated McLaughlin (Dannevirke) 11.6, on points.
