ASHBURTON MOTORIST FINED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day. Hector Claude McDonald, manager of the United Friendly Societies’ Dispensary, was fined £25,- and his licence was cancelled till July, 1940, on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car. The defendant was arrested after a chase by a traffic inspector and constable, and after he had ignored a signal to stop. Counsel said defendant had visited friends and had some drink, which took effect when he went out in the cold air.
