Critics regret the dropping of Fames. Nichols is eleventh in the bowling averages, having taken 81 wicks for an average of 19.35 runs. Smailes in sixteenth with a record of 81 wickets for an average of 19.35 runs. Goddard and Wright do not appear in the averages.
