IN BEAUTY’S CAUSE
MAKE FRIENDS WITH THE COW. Dietitians claim that every adult individual should consume at least a pint of milk every day, because of the protective mineral elements which this beverage contains. This is for health’s sake, but adhering to this custom is also one of the best complexion beautifiers!
One way to utilise milk for beauty’s sake is to go on a milk diet for about three days. Many of the glamorous show-girls and dancers of Hollywood keep their skins clear of blotches and sallowness by this simple procedure. During this dieting period no solid foods are taken —simply as much milk as possible, plus the juice of at least four oranges each day. The average amount of milk consumed is from four to. six quarts every 24 hours, which isn’t such a large amount as it seems when you consider that you abstain from solid foods. After three days of such dieting, a normal diet should be resumed. This does not mean that improper food habits should be adopted, or you will undo all the good that the diet has done. Follow a sane and healthful diet at all times if you would have the soft, almost transparent kind of skin that is so truly feminine and so alluring. In any case, you are advised to have a doctor’s advice before dieting in case your particular constitution may not be able to stand up to it. The benefits of milk, from the beauty angle, are not relegated to its internal consumption alone. Milk is a splendid complexion beautifier when used externally, too!
