SENATE PASSES AUSTRALIAN 1 BILL. I • EXEMPTION PROPOSAL DELETED. (Recd This Day, 11.0 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Senate, by sixteen votes to six, agreed to an amendment to reverse a decision by the House of Representatives to exempt from the provisions of the Insurance Bill hospital employees receiving benefits not less favourable than those provided under the scheme. This was the only important amendment made by the Senate in passing the Bill.
