CARTERTON BOROUGH

RATES STRUCK FOR CURRENT YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a special meeting of the Carterton Borough Council last night it was decided to strike a consolidated rate of 11.35 d in the £ on the unimproved value of all rateable property for the current year. The rate includes a general rate of 6d in the £, a hospital and charitable aid rate of 1.6 d in the £, street lighting rate of .6d in the £, library rate of .15d in the £ and a conversion loan rate of 3d in the £. A special water rate of 1.65 d in the £ on the unimproved value and a special drainage rate of 1.4 d in the £ over a special area were also struck. The consolidated rate last year was also 11.35 d in the £. The general rate last year was 5.6 d in the £.
