FEATHERSTON

LAND VALUATION. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Wednesday in Featherston Messrs Spellman (Crown Lands Department) Jamieson (State Advances Corporation), and Scott (Government Valuer, Masterton) met a number of settlers from the Bidwill Settlement and their solicitors (Messrs J. W. Card and H. M. Ward, Featherston, and G. D. Wilson, Masterton) when a conference was held in connection with the settlers’ contention that the valuation of their properties was above the productive value. The holdings are those which were acquired from the late W .E. Bidwill just after the termination of the Great War, when land values were high. It is understood that a mutual agreement was arrived at which is subject to confirmation by the Government. PERSONAL. ' R. D.
