f. CARD TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The first round of the annual card tournament of the Fire Brigade and Friendly Societies was concluded on Thursday night. The position of the teams is: Fire Brigade 6 points, Foresters, Oddfellows and Druids 2 points each. - HAMUA WIN GOLF MATCH. In a golf match played at Haihua, the home team defeated Eketahuna by 12 games to 5. Eketahuna teams are set down to play the Pahiatua. A and B teams on July 3. The A teams will meet at Pahiatua for the Gregorie Cup, and the B teams’ game will be played at Eketahuna. A well-known local golf player, Mr Noel Payne, has received an appointment in Wellington. RONGOMAI FUNCTION. / At the fortnightly card tournament held in the Rongomai School the winners were as follow: —Ladies: Mrs J. F. Davie 1, Miss T. Evans 2. Men: Mr R. F. Evans 1, Mr J. Reid 2.
