FIRE PREVENTION

MEETING OF MASTERTON BOARD The chairman, Mr Trevor Beetham. presided at the quarterly meeting of the Masterton Fire Board, held last night. i The Superintendent, Mr T. B. Clark, reported that from April 1 to June 18 the brigade answered 12 calls, three of which were false alarms, and one a malicious false alarm. The value of the property and the contents on which fires occurred totalled £565. and the insurance £3OO. The fire alarm system was working satisfactorily. The minimum water pressure for May was 79 lbs, and the maximum pressure was 81 lbs.
