NEW BATHS
1 INQUIRIES BY BOROUGH ENGINEER. 1 PLANS BEING PREPARED. t ’ The provision of new and improved i baths in Masterton is at present re- ■ ceiving the serious attention of the ’ Masterton Borough Council. For many 1 years past representations have been 1 made for better facilities in this direc- ■ tion and there now appears to be some : possibility of the public’s needs being met in the not distant future. ! While, under the present weather 1 conditions, most people are inclined to 1 shiver vigorously at the very thought ■ of wallowing about in cold water, the Borough Engineer, Mr C. R. Mabson is busily engaged in making plans for new swimming baths. Although no definite site has yet been chosen for the proposed baths, prices are being obtained for a filtration plant, tiling, and the installation of a tepid water system. Soon we may see some of our Masterton swimmers outdoing the exploits of the hardy mid-winter enthusiasts of the capital city—at least if the water is made hot enough.
