The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, is at present visiting Dannevirke. The death, at the age of 62, of Mr C. J. Bromley, of the Bank of New Zealand staff at Featherston, left yesterday on transfer to Wellington, and his place is being taken by Mr D. C. Wilson, from Gisborne. Mr W. R. Watson, of Masterton, has received notification of his appointment to the Royal Air Force, England. Mr Watson, who will enter the service as a pilot officer and will commence training at the civil school at.' 1 Uxbridge, England, is to sail by the Rangitata on August 25. '
