ESPERANTO

MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. At the meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club held on Tuesday evening. Mr A. Dewar, D.8.E.A., presided over a satisfactory attendance. In addition Io providing the usual tuition. Mr W. H. King. D.8.E.A., displayed copies of the Bible in Esperanto and “The Complete Dictionary of Esperanto,” two valuable and interesting pieces of literature printed wholly in the international language. It was reported that during the week correspondence in Esperanto had been received from Austria and Australia, further journals had arrived from England, Sweden, Yugoslavia and France, and advertising matter had come to hand from the 34th Eucharistic Congress in Budapest. On behalf of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, Mr King (honorary secretary) announced details of the programme of the 9th New Zealand Esperanto Congress, which will take place in Wellington from December 31 to January 2 inclusive. The programme comprises an official opening and photograph, three business meetings of the Dominion organisation, a sight-seeing tour, a lecturette session and an annual meeting of members of the International Esperanto League (both entirely in Esperanto), a social gathering and concert, and other functions common to such gatherings.
