# ■ WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Pahautea branch of the Women’s Division held its monthly meeting last Thursday, Mrs Farquar presiding- over a fair attendance of members. An amusing wool competition was won by Mrs Rogers. The competition for best oven loaf was won by Mrs Farquar, with Mrs Rogers second. The hostesses were Mrs J. P. Frend and Mrs L. Smith. FAREWELL GATHERING. A very pleasant time was spent at the home of Mrs Wakely last Wednesday evening when the Dramatic and Music Circle of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union took the opportunity to wish Mrs Pendergrast farewell. The hostess, Mrs Wakely, in welcoming the guest of the evening presented her with a charming shoulder spray. Competitions and musical items were enjoyed, and after supper, Mrs Wakely spoke in eulogistic terms of Mrs Pendergrast’s work and presented her with a token . from the Circle. Mrs Pendergrast suitably replied.
