CHEQUE FORGED
LABOURER COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE (By Telegraph—Press Association). PALMERSTON NORTH, June 16. Pleading guilty to forging a cheque for £25 8s and causing W. D. Moroney, Carterton, to act upon it as if it were genuine, Gerald William McWhirter, labourer, aged 41, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence by Messrs. N. Blackmore and G. M. Ranson J.’sP. in the Magistrates’ Court, Palmerston North, yesterday. Detective-Sergeant A. B. Meiklejohn conducted the prosecution.
