CENTRAL SCHOOL

NINE SPEAKER RADIO IN USE. The Central School Committee, aided by the School Parents’ Association, negotiated with the Education Department for the supply of a nine-speaker radio for the school. This set is now to hand and installed. Yesterday, during the educational session, its value was amply demonstrated. Every room from Standard I to Standard VI has its separate speaker, controllable as to volume in each room. Thus without interference, anyone of, or all, the rooms were able to listen-in. The tone and clarity left nothing to be desired, and Messrs J. E. McCalwell (chairman of the School Committee), G. Beecroft (chairman of the Parents’ Association) and W. R. Nicol (Education Board) expressed themselves as very pleased with the installation.
