FAREWELL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The playing members of the Feath-erston-Haunui Croquet Club gave a farewell afternoon on Monday for Mrs Pendergrast, who is shortly leaving the district for Auckland. A pleasant time was spent with cards. After afternoon tea Miss Eva Card (president), presented Mrs Pendergrast with a posy made and given by Mrs Tutbery, and expressed regret at her departure. Miss Card expressed best wishes for the future and extended an invitation to her to visit the club whenever possible. PERSONAL ITEMS. Miss E. Till has returned from a short holiday spent in Wellington. Mrs Q. Donald is spending a few days in Palmerston North. MINIATURE RIFLES. Moriarity 87, Miss P. Nix 94, M. Fountain 90, E. McKenzie 97. WEDDING. HART—BANFIELD. On Saturday at All Saint’s Church, Kilbirnie, the marriage took place of Mr A. W. Hart, of the Featherston P. and T. staff, and Miss Gwen Banfield, of Wellington. The Rev. Mr Langstone officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, looked charming in a white brocaded satin frock, made with long pointed train. Her veil was attached from a white satin halo, which had a wreath of flowers as a bandeau. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss Harper, the bridesmaid, wore a mauve satin frock with a halo of the same material and carried a bouquet of mauve and pink tones. Pamela Ban field, niece of the bride, wore pale pink satin, and carried a basket of flowers in the same shades a- z those of the bridesmaid. Mr D. Shearer, an old West Coast friend, was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Malfair Cabaret, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a navy braided costume. She was assisted by Mrs Hart, mother of the bridegroom. Mrs Hart wore a black costume and black hat. Mr and Mrs Hart later left for a motor tour of the North Island, the bride wearing a navy ensemble with a fur, the gift of the bridegroom. Their future home will be in Revens Street, Featherston.
