EXTENSIVE PROGRAMME AT ROTORUA

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ROTORUA, June 13.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony today of new additions to the Rotorua primary school, the Minister of Education, the Hon P. Fraser, said that the Government was at present entering upon an extensive building programme in Rotorua. This included the additions to the high school, which they had inspected that afternoon, and, in addition, a new technical block should be erected at the school. Plans were also being prepared for a new primary school and for a new Native school at Whakarewarewa. Considerable additions would also be made shortly to the Government sanatorium and the sanatorium and main bath building. Subsequently the Minister indicated also that plans had been approved for a new district police station in keeping with the importance of the district.

Mr Fraser said that it was hoped to complete construction of the school buildings within six months, and of the other buildings within two to three years.
