GREYTOWN
WEEKEND BURGLARY. ("Times-Age” Special.) During the weekend the shop of Mrs Eccles (draper) in Main Street was entered by a burglar. Entry was gained by a back window. On the floor were found a number of used matches and some wood had been set alight but had gone out. [Mrs Eccles is not able to estimate the value of the goods stolen. GOLF COMPETITIONS. The second round of the ladies’ challenge cup was played on Saturday, points being gained as follows: — Mrs Maddison, 90-17-73, 3 points; Miss Nix, 89-14-75, 2 points; Mrs J. Jury, 98-20-78, 1 point. Points gained over the two rounds are as follow: —Mrs Maddison 41, Miss Nix 31, Miss E. Gregor 3, Mrs J. Jury 1. In the Stableford competition played on Saturday H. E. Webster was again the winner. The Greytown links are now in splendid order, the grass now being short as compared with a few weeks ago.
