GREYTOWN

OLD SETTLER’S DEATH.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

At Greytown on Wednesday night the death occurred of a very old resident in the person of Mr Harry Dunn at the age of 92 years. He was the youngest member of a family of seven —William, Thomas, Walter, John, Anne Susannah, Martha and Harry. The first five of the family came to New Zealand with their parents in the good ship “Birman,” and arrived in Wellington in 1842. Martha and Harry were born in Wellington. The whole family has now passed away. The late Mr Dunn took up land in the Eketahuna district in the early days. He was at one time a member of the Eketahuna County Council. Of late years he had taken up his residence in Greytown, leaving the management of his farm to his son, Henry. He leaves a family of six daughters and one son. There are: Mrs C. Thompson, Mrs G. Conly, Miss Mildred M. Dunn, Mrs W. L. Udy, Mrs Nancy Cooper, Mrs F. Day and Mr Henry Erl Dunn. MINIATURE RIFLES. * The Grey town Club held its weekly shoot on Monday night.
