MARTINBOROUGH
, ♦ AN ENJOYABLE DANCE (“Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable time was spent by those who were present at a dance arranged by several members of the Badminton Club last evening. Messrs Viv. Boyd and Te Tau supplied good music, Miss Betty Grant and Miss Prussing playing extras, and Mr A. Beveridge was a very capable M.C. The Lucky Spot waltz was won by Mr Matheson and Mrs Mason, and the Monte Carlo by Mr Doug. Larson and Miss M. Quinn. Supper was provided, and the singing of Auld Lang Syne and God Save the King, brought a pleasant evening to a close. HANDKERCHIEF TEA. Yesterday afternoon many friends were entertained at the home of Mrs G. McLeod, the occasion being a handkerchief tea for Miss F. McLeod, in honour of her approaching marriage. Competitions were won by Mrs I. McLeod and Mrs M. McLeod respectively. A delightful afternoon tea was served by the hostesses (Mrs A. D. McLeod and Mrs G. McLeod). Miss F. McLeod was accorded musical honours. The singing of Auld Lang Syne ended a happy afternoon.
