TIBBETT—SINGER AND SPORTSMAN.
Since he has been in Australia, Lawrence Tibbett, the tall, genial American baritone, has indicated that not only is he a great singer, but also a charming man and good sport. He has done big-game fishing outside Sydney Heads; played golf, tennis, and bridge. Sung for the youngsters at children’s hospitals and other institutions, and told them fairy stories. He has visited hospitals and cheered . adult patients with his glorious voice and radiant personality, and has, with his charming wife, made what is undoubtedly one of the biggest public successes a visiting artist has ever enjoyed. One of the Sydney newspapers described Lawrence .Tibbett as “six feet of glorious voice and good fellowship—and a bit over.” Messrs J. and N. Tait are presenting Lawrence Tibbett to New Zealand audiences ’shortly.
