Approximately 25,000 replies were received to the “New York Mirror's Motion Picture Contest which was concluded recently. Warner Bros.’ “The Life of Emile Zola” was voted the “best” picture of the last 12 months with 11,960 votes. The favourite film hero chosen was Paul Muni with 4,355 votes followed by Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable. The favourite film heroine was Myrna Loy with 5,674 votes followed by Bette Davis and Claudette Colbert.
