RIMUTAKA HILL

PRIME MINISTER TO MAKE STATEMENT “YOU WILL SAY HALLELUJAH” An important announcement regarding the Rimutaka Hill will be made by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon M. J. Savage, when he visits Masterton on June 18, according to a statement made by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon R. Semple, when in Masterton yesterday.

“Mr Savage will tell you when he arrives in a few days what we intend to do about the Rimutaka Hill,” observed Mr Semple, who added that the Prime Minister would make a public statement on the subject. Turning to the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, Mr Semple said: "And when you hear what Mr Savage has to say I am inclined to think you will say Hallelujah." Mr Jordan: “I will say something if he does not.”
